Annual examinations are necessary to monitor the ocular health, as well as to provide patients with the most up to date glasses prescription for optimal vision. Many eye conditions can present with little to no symptoms, and can only be diagnosed upon examination. Such conditions can include bleeding or "retinopathy" from diabetes, thinning or holes in the peripheral retina, and many more. Timely diagnosis and management of such conditions is vital.

Pediatric eye examinations are a vital part of growth and development for children. Undiagnosed conditions such as amblyopia (lazy eye), strabismus (eye turn), high prescriptions, and others can lead to sometimes permanent developmental deficiencies in visual/ocular function.
